Dubai: RTA’s New Amendment Regarding Free Public Parking Policy
The latest Roads and Transport Policy amendment targets the free parking day policy of Dubai. According to the amendment, the fee exemption which was available on Friday previously has now been moved to Sunday.
Dubai crown prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the chairman of ECD have submitted resolution: No.18 of 2022, which amends certain sections of No.5, 2016 regarding the public parking of Dubai.
The RTA Road and Transport Authority of Dubai is authorized to make changes in their department accordingly, except for specific groups of people and places. The announcement of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stated that the policy was effective from the time of its passage.
No.18 (2022) Amendments Details
The amendment was passed on 28 March. Moreover, the resolution also revised the timings of the paid parking days. According to the new timings, parking will be charged from 8 am to 10 pm on paid days and free on Sunday and public holidays.
Multi-story parking spaces will keep charging the fee 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
Continuing the amendment, citizens can park their vehicles in the public parking spaces for 4 hour straight hours, 24 straight hours in parking lots, and 30 straight days in multi-story parking spaces.
