Rental Cars Myths Busted and Confirmed
Rental cars are one of the most popular forms of transport in the UAE. According to a survey, 1 out of 3 tourists prefers to hire a car service in UAE than a conventional taxi and metro service. However, for a rental car in Dubai, there are some myths that every tourist has to listen to before booking. Below we’ve busted and confirmed some of the popular myths for your ease:
Fuel Price Adjustment
Most tourists believe that rental car companies will compensate you for the additional fuel that you’ve left in their vehicle’s fuel tank than the one they gave you at starting. However, no company will compensate you for leaving extra fuel in their car. If you refuel the car, then make sure to utilize all the fuel, so you won’t need to waste your money on the extra fuel. No matter if you leave a full tank or empty tank, the rental car company will not compensate you.
Rental car companies in UAE have a policy for matters of an accident. The company does provide basic green card insurance. If the accident occurs, the police will do the investigation of the accident. If the police state the green card accident (no driver’s mistake), then the rental car company will afford the accident. However, if the report states a red card (driver’s mistake), then the customer will have to pay for the accident repair cost. That’s how the accident policy works in the UAE.
Car Stealth Policy
No, you will not be responsible if the car gets stolen nor you’ve to pay for the price of the car. If the rented car gets stolen, the maximum you’ll have to do is to file an FIR and become a witness to the incident. The rental car company will not charge you for any kind of car if it gets stolen. In most cases, the stolen car gets recovered by the UAE police and it’s very rare that cars get stolen in UAE.
