New Parking Areas to be Announced in UAE

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that paid parking zones will be implemented in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah on August 15.

Paid parking zones are areas where you can park your car for a fixed amount of time and then leave it.

The new scheme aims to reduce traffic congestion in busy areas by making sure that people don’t have to wait around for their cars to be free.

The new parking zones will be announced in Khor Fakkan and Sharjah and were announced by the local municipality on August 4 which will be effective on August 15.

The authority also announced that citizens of age 60 and above cause the new parking zones free of cost after submitting the following documents:

  • Emirates ID
  • Proof of ownership of the car. If you’re using a rented car, you cannot avail of this service.
  • Registration documents.
  • You can submit these documents online via Khor Fakkan local municipality website.
